"IN GOOD COMPANY"

Rise City Dance is the youth, pre-professional dance company of Neighborhood Ballet, an Atlanta-based dance studio. Rise City aims to elevate technique, while also nurturing creativity and expression as students grow in their dance careers.

Neighborhood Ballet wanted to define their dance company with a brand that was more mature and aspirational for their audience of young student members. We chose a name that connects dance with a popular Atlantan motto, "A city on the rise," giving dancers an opportunity to represent their city at events around the country.

The identity uses a high contrast typeface and neutral color palette to create an elevated look and feel. The wordmark rearranges itself in various compositions, giving a nod to the movement and energy of dance. Black and white photography adds an element of sophistication, while the imagery speaks for itself.
